Dr. Bruce Evans is a fifth-generation resident of Rapid City. His first career goal was to practice medicine, so he attended USD Medical School and graduated in 1984. During his senior year in medical school, he changed plans and decided to become an orthodontist. After an internship in Hawaii, he attended the University of Florida's dental school and graduated first in his class. He completed his orthodontic specialty training at the University of Minnesota. The perpetual student finally began working in 1991. He is one of the very few "double doctor" orthodontists in the United States. In his spare time, he enjoys snow skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and waterskiing. He and his wife, Shelly, have three sons: Brady, Andrew and Samuel.
